The Fredericksburg Area Service League, Inc. is an organization of women committed to improving and enriching the lives of Fredericksburg area children. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.

The Fredericksburg Area Service League, Inc. seeks to provide an environment which values and promotes diversity in its membership and offers opportunity for friendship, leadership, and personal growth through projects and partnerships that meet the community's needs and address the challenges of the 2000's.

A Brief History
The Fredericksburg Area Service League, Inc. was formed in April, 1993 by a group of women interested in promoting voluntarism in the Fredericksburg area. Founding members saw a distinct need for a central clearinghouse of volunteers from the community at large who were ready to develop and staff new programs. After several meetings, the membership voted to have issues relating to children as its primary focus.

Who We Are
The Fredericksburg Area Service League, Inc. is an organization of women committed to improving and enriching the lives of children in Fredericksburg and the surrounding counties. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. The Fredericksburg Area Service League, Inc. is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. We have 90 active and sustaining members. Regular volunteer service is required of our 74 active members, who give approximately 2,220 volunteer hours annually. The FASL meets monthly, excluding the summer months, and holds fund raising and social events throughout the year.

President's Letter

It is truly an honor to serve as the President of the Fredericksburg Area Service League this year.

Founded in 1993, the Fredericksburg Area Service League is an organization of women trained to become positive agents of change in our community. Last year, FASL contributed approximately $40,000 of direct financial support and over 2,000 volunteer hours to support local non-profit agencies, FASL programs, and various community endeavors.

This year, the Fredericksburg Area Service League is proud to generate three events: Junior Cotillion, Merry Market and Member Guest Auction. Beginning in the fall, etiquette and dance classes will be offered through our Junior Cotillion program. Junior Cotillion is a fun and educational opportunity to give middle school children the necessary confidence for future endeavors. Our 4th Annual Merry Market Boutique Craft Show will be held in November. A preview party, The Jingle Bell Cocktail, will kick off the event weekend, where we welcome artisans and quality craftsman to our two day show. In the spring, FASL will host our Member Guest Auction. This is a great night out with wonderful a wonderful selection of silent auction items. Please review the website for more details.

The impact that the League makes in our community is possible because of the dedication of our members. In addition to its’ members, the League is supported by generous donors, corporations, community partners and friends who help us in “Making a Difference for Children” year after year.

Our members are dedicated, professional, and well-educated women with unique life experiences that make a difference in our community. I invite you, and talented women you know, to learn more about our organization and consider contributing your time and volunteer efforts as a member of the Fredericksburg Area Service League.
